Located in Hampshire, England this once beautiful home of a UK Grand National crowned winner, named "Lovely Cottage", had since fallen into dilapidation that is until RIBA award-winning architects AR Design Studio transformed the space into a modern and elegant abode. While still keeping the original period features the architect team managed to create a sleek, minimal design that allowed the historical stables and wood elements to be showcased. Complete with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, sitting area, and outdoor terrace, this now family home is something to be desired.
As of lately I've been dreading the end of summer. No more care-free, sun dress wearing kinda days filled with too many popsicles and dips in the pool. However, thanks to the peeps over at Need Supply Co. and the release of their newest fall curated collection I'm starting to sing a different tune… Filled with plush layers, warm brown tones, and their always excellent selection of denim and boots, I'm rethinking these scorching days and instead day dreaming about some cool autumn breeze (and those Rachel Comey Mars Mules)!!
Designed by Hayden Walling, home of painter James Lechay (1907-2001), remains one of the best examples of Modest Bauhaus architecture near outer Cape Cod in Wellfleet, Mass. Built in the fifties and sixties, the summer homes, "Though humble in budget, materials, and environmental impact, the Outer Cape's Modern houses manage to be manifestos of their designers' philosophy and way of living, close to nature, immersed in art, and seeking community," according to the Cape Cod Modern House Trust. With the area filled with homes once belonging to other émigré European modernist the Cape Cod Modern House Trust was "founded to collect, archive, and share documentation of the outer Cape's exceptional modern architecture, restore a group of important, endangered modern houses, and to relaunch them as platforms for new creative work." This beautifully designed space can be seasonally rented, you can find out more information by going to We Need A Vacation, which would make for an inspirational getaway not just for the creatives and artists alike.
sale, sale, SALE! I love sales and I love Reformation! The brand combines two of my favorite things, fashion and sustainability, in a simply brilliant way. Even on sale their pieces still have a hefty price tag but knowing you're investing in more than just a garment can be worth the price. Especially, if you're choosing a piece that is classic and versatile. So after scouring through their newly marked sale to save you all some time I've selected some of the pieces that I truly love and think worthy of sharing…and very much want in my closet right now!
