When the heat of summer comes around I envision living in a beautiful home by the sea spending my days basking in the sun. During my time in college I moved to an Eastern shore city where I lived for almost six years and fell in love with the beach life. It's also where I met and fell in love with, Jon, my fiancé. Jon, having spent the majority of his life living by the ocean, does everything ending with '-ing' (i.e. surfing, bodyboarding, skateboarding, long boarding, kayaking, hiking, camping… you get the picture). So when I day dream about our future abode I foresee something a lot like this renovated 1970's surfers lodge by Melbourne's interior stylist Simone Haag and construction manager Rhys Haag. Having already taken a few turns around Pinterest and Tumblr, there's a good chance you've seen this looker, but I can't help sharing! From the beach vibes, to the mid-century details (I need those blue kitchen tiles in my life), to the perfectly added Scandinavian furniture pieces and color choices, this ones a winner in my book! Then again it doesn't take much more than gorgeous lighting and a relaxed, Scandinavian feel to win me over. Head over to The Design Files if you would like to know more about their renovation process and item sources.
